Tongren Daxing Airport Opened to Traffic in Guizhou

Last Saturday saw the Tongren Daxing Airport, the newly expanded airport opened to traffic in Guizhou Province, involving an investment of 163 million yuan. Blowing suona (a windpipe), villagers of Miao nationality are celebrating the first Boeing 737's landing on the airport.

Worldly Rare Dissolved Caves Discovered in Guangxi

A scientific expedition jointly staged by Chinese, British and US scientists has recently discovered a large group of limestone caves and ria in its comprehensive exploration to the dissolved caves in Yao Nationality area of Lihu Township of Nandan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Discovered in the 50 square kilometers of the Lihu area are hundreds of limestone caves and subterranean rivers and in the caves are found various sorts of sub-growing biological and chemical accumulations that are exceptionally large in scale and multifarious in species in China and even in the world. Here is the huge entrance of the cave. 

Moscow Welcomes IOC Meeting

Harnessing Project for Nyang Qu River Carried Out

Picture dated July 7 shows a new house of Ihagba Tonzhub's family near the Nyang Qu River at Bainang county of Tibet Autonomous Region. Harnessing project has been carried out for Nyang Qu River to protect residents of its drainage area, who suffered severe flood in the fall of 2000.
