US Firm Builds IC Design Center in Shanghai
Jere Systems, an America-based company, has built a new integrated circuit (IC) design center for online telecommunications in China's largest city.
The center, which opened in late June, is located in the Jinmao Tower of Pudong New District, said local sources.
As a leading provider of semiconductors in the world, Jere Systems has also opened design centers in Singapore and Spain.
The American company's new facility in Shanghai is Jere Systems ' first IC design center in China and is expected to become an important part of the global network.
In addition to offering round-the-clock service, the new center will concentrate on research and development of integrated circuits adaptable to online hookup, high-speed switching, and new generation transmission equipment, said a spokesman with the center.
