China's Biggest Fruit Juice Production Line Operational
China's largest fruit juice production line became operational Sunday in Shule County of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The condensed juice production line, which has a designed capacity for handling 350 tons of fruit per day, was built with an investment of nearly 11 million U.S. dollars by the Xinjiang Tunhe Co.
He Guiping, chairman of the company, said they plan to plant 10, 000 hectares of fruit trees in three years in southern Xinjiang, where quality apricots, megranates, mulberries and tomatoes are produced.
By that time, he said, the company will be able to process 80, 000 tons of fruit a year, with an annual output value of 350 million yuan (42 million U.S. dollars).
With sufficient sunshine and a dry climate, oasis farms in Xinjiang produce quality agricultural products, including fruit and cotton.
