China, Japan Win in Asian Challenge Cup Men's Volleyball
Asian Games champions China outgunned silver medallists South Korea in four sets on the opening day of the Asian challenge cup men's volleyball tournament in Miyazaki, Japan on Friday.
The Chinese spikers rallied to a 25-15, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 victory in the four-nation round robin competition at the Miyazaki municipal gymnasium in western Japan.
Meanwhile, hosts Japan, who earlier lost to Chinese Taipei in a bronze medal playoff in Bangkok, overwhelmed Chinese Taipei 26-24, 24-26, 25-22, 27-25 in a hard-fought match.
