Asteroid Named after Famed HK Writer

An asteroid naming ceremony was held Friday at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

Louis Cha Leung-yung, a celebrated Hong Kong writer with the pen name "Jin Yong", was happy to learn that the NO. 10930 asteroid had been named after his pen name.

The contemporary martial arts novelist Jin Yong is also a noted journalist. Some 300 million volumes of his works have been published in various languages worldwide. He also made remarkable contributions to Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Chinese astronomer Zhu Jin discovered Asteroid Jin Yong in 1998, which got its permanent international serial number in 1999.
