Shanxi Has 30,000 CPC Members in Non-State-owned Enterprises

To date, 755 grassroots units of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have been set up in 23,000 private companies and 423,000 individual-run firms in north China’s Shanxi Province, with 29,600 CPC members.

With the number of Party members growing fast, the economic performance and service quality of the private companies and individual-run firms in Shanxi Province have also improved greatly. In 2000, 101 people in individual- run firms in Shanxi Province joined the CPC.

As early as in 1985, grassroots units of the CPC began to be set up in non-state-owned enterprises in Linfen and Houma cities.

Later, the Organization Department of the Shanxi CPC Provincial Committee issued a circular to the effect that grassroots CPC organizations should be set up in private companies with more than three Party members.
