Study Jiang's Speech, Improve SOE Work: Vice-Premier

Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Bangguo Friday urged Party workers at various state-owned enterprises (SOE) to study the speech made on July 1 by President Jiang Zemin, so as to improve the work of Party building and push forward the reform of SOEs.

Wu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said at a meeting held by the CPC's Central Enterprise Work Committee that Jiang's speech is of great importance and far-reaching significance for further promoting the reform and development of SOEs.

He asked Party organizations in various enterprises to take the study and implementation of the speech as a long-term political task, and to use the spirit of the speech to solve problems cropping up in the reform and development of SOEs.
