Chinese State Councilor Meets Mongolian Guests
Chinese State Councilor
Wu Yi
met Friday with
Mongolia
n Infrastructure Minister Byambagiin Jigjid.
Wu welcomed Jigjid to attend the seventh meeting of the joint committee of Sino-Mongolian economic and trade cooperation. She said she believed that the meeting would further promote trade and economic cooperation between China and Mongolia.
She said China has attached importance to developing good- neighborly relations with Mongolia, and will promote bilateral relations according to the five-point proposals made by Chinese President
Jiang Zemin
in his 1999 Mongolia visit.
She noted that the economies of the two countries are complementary to each other so the Chinese government will promote the sustainable growth of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Jigjid said China has become the largest foreign investor in Mongolia, and bilateral trade has had rapid growth.
He hoped the current development momentum could be maintained.
