Seminar on Human Rights and Police Held in Beijing

A seminar on human rights and police was jointly held by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights July 5-6.

The seminar was attended by some 40 participants, including officials and scholars from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, Qinghua University, the People's University of China, and experts from overseas.

The participants had an extensive and in-depth exchange of views on the provisions of international human rights instruments on police conducts, criteria of professional ethics of the police, police training and other issues.

The seminar was a success, according to the participants.
