China to Stage Int'l Higher Education Exhibition

The 2001 China International Higher Education Exhibition will be held October 20-22, in Beijing and in Shanghai, October 26-28.

The exhibition, held by China Education Association for International Exchanges (CEAIE), aims to present achievements made in China's education reform and the latest trend of China's education in the new century.

Achievement exhibition of "211 Project" will be the most attractive part of the international exhibition. China launched " 211 Project" in 1992, which gave preference to 100 key universities and key subjects in the 21st century, in a bid to improve the comprehensive national strength.

By the end of 2000, about 91 universities had entered the list of the "211 project."

Over 120 domestic and overseas universities and institutions of higher learning are expected to participate in the exhibition.
