Study Jiang's Speech, Improve Work: Premier
The Leading Party Group of the State Council on Thursday held a meeting to study Jiang Zemin's speech on July 1 at a grand gathering marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Leading Party Group of the State Council, said at the meeting that Jiang's speech is rich in content and of great significance.

"We must make a thorough study and achieve a complete understanding of the speech, and earnestly implement it to improve our work," he said.

During the meeting, Zhu Rongji asked those working in various departments under the State Council to take the study of the speech as an important and long-term task, to link the study of the speech closely with practice, and to improve the style of work.

Present at the meeting were Li Lanqing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice-premier and deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group of the State Council, and other members of the Leading Party Group of the State Council Qian Qichen, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Chi Haotian, Luo Gan, Wu Yi, Ismail Amat and Wang Zhongyu.
