China's First Broadcasting Group Sets 10 billion Yuan Business Target

Hunan Radio, Film and Television Group, the first of its kind in China, announced recently its ambitious plan to reach a business target of 10 billion yuan (1.2 billion U.S. dollars) in the coming decade.

Zeng Fan'an, general manager of the Changsha-based group, said the group plans to produce 10,000-hour television program, 10,000- hour radio program, and 1,000 television feature programs in the coming five to 10 years.

That plan will turn the group in Hunan Province into the biggest radio and television program producer in areas south of the Yangtze River, said Zeng.

The group currently has seven television channels, including Hunan Satellite Television Channel that is famous for its entertaining programs, and four radio channels owned by the Hunan People's Radio Station.

The group, set up late last year with its asset totaling 3 billion yuan, has become a listed company on the Shenzhen Stock Market.
