Chinese Kongfu Beats Japanese Karate by 3:1

The contest between Chinese martial arts and Japanese Karate was concluded on July 3 in Langfang City of Hebei Province. Chinese players beat their Japanese rivals by 3:1. Photo shows Chinese 80-kg Xue Fengqiang edged out Japanese Karate heavyweight champion Shinichiro Hamamatsu. 

Foreign Reporters Visit People's Daily Online

At 2:30 p.m. July 4, People's Daily Online welcomed in a group of 40 special guests to visit the new working platform of People's Daily Network Center. This is the first group of foreign reporters and news officials received since the new working platform was put into use on June 5, as well as the first large-scale reception of foreign colleagues to come for visit.

All 143 Passengers Killed in Russian Plane Crash

None of the 143 passengers and crew members aboard a Russian Tu-154 plane survived a Tuesday crash near the Siberian city of Irkutsk, the press service of the Emergency Ministry announced.
