State Council Executive Meeting Held

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji Wednesday presided over the 42nd Executive Meeting of the State Council which discussed and passed, in principle, a draft regulation on the transfer of cases involving suspected crimes by the administrative law-enforcing department to the judicial department.

According to the meeting, it is necessary to approve and implement the regulation in view of the fact that the unlawful activities of making and selling fake and inferior products are rampant in some parts of China and such activities could not be curbed effectively as the administrative law-enforcing department failed to transfer such cases to the judicial department in time.

The draft regulation will be promulgated by the State Council after modification.
