Woman Suffering Sheehan's Syndrome Gives Birth to TripletA woman, surnamed Lin, who suffers from Sheehan's syndrome, gave birth to triplets at the Women and Children's Health Care Center of Fujian Province, east China, and the month-old babies are in good condition, doctors said Wednesday. The triplets, two boys and one girl, were born on May 31 this year. Both the mother and the children are in good condition and are expected to leave the hospital very soon, doctors said. Lin, 26, a native of Wenzhou City in neighboring Zhejiang Province, gave birth to a boy (who died of an illness) in 1996. She suffered serious postpartum hemorrhage and shock, and after emergency treatment, there came the Sheehan's syndromes -- agalactosis, amenorrhea, reduction of hair on the body and head and swelling of the breasts. Lin has used various hormone treatments ever since. And in a strong desire for a baby, she came to the Women and Children's Health Care Center for help last June. Doctors at the center used sex hormones to help restore Lin's womb to the normal size and helped Lin become pregnant by implanting fertilized embryo into the her womb. Doctors said that it is unusual for a person with Sheehan's syndrome to become pregnant.
