Tibetans Vow to Implement Jiang Zemin's Speech

Scores of people of all walks of life in Tibet attended a discussion Tuesday in Lhasa on studying the July 1 speech by Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Lhalu Cering Doje, the former commander of the rebellion troop of Tibet in 1959, said, "Earth-shaking changes have taken place in Tibet over the past 50 years. Led by the central government, Tibet has achieved marked progress in all aspects. We fully enjoy the freedom of religion and the right of subsistence. Tibetans are leading an unprecedentedly happy life."

Ma Yugui, head of the Tibetan Branch of the Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association, said, "What I have experienced tells me the Chinese Communist Party is great. Only under its leadership, can China become strong and prosperous."

Samzhub, head of the Tibet Regional United Front Work Department, said, "By studying the speech of Jiang Zemin and reviewing the history of the CPC and Tibet, we came to realize that the CPC is the leading core of China. In the united front work in Tibet, we will hold high the banner of patriotism and socialism, safeguard the unity of China and oppose separatism."
