NPC Vice-Chairman Meets ROK Business Delegation

Jiang Chunyun, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), met Tuesday with a delegation from the Korea-China Friendship Association (KCFA) of the Republic of Korea (ROK), led by Chairman Lee Sei Kee and President Suh Chung Won of the association.

The delegation will tour China's western areas to explore business opportunities. Jiang briefed the guests on China' strategy to develop its western areas.

He said that China's Western Development strategy is a major part of its Tenth Five-Year plan (2001-2005) and that China attaches great importance to the drive. He expressed hope that the ROK business people will take an active part in the development efforts.

Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), was present at the meeting.

KCFA, with medium and small-sized enterprises as its major members, was founded in 1994. The delegation is on a visit here at the invitation of the CPAFFC.
