Zhejiang to Build China's Largest Paper Production Base
East China's Zhejiang Province will accelerate the construction of three paper-making centers -- Ningbo, Jiaxing and Fuhe -- to build itself into China's largest paper production base during the 2001-2005 period.
As China's key paper producer, Zhejiang aims to achieve an annual paper production of five million tons by 2005.
In the 2001-2005 period, the local paper production capacity will increase by two million tons, which will need 20 billion yuan (about 2.4 billion US dollars) of investment in the industry.
The province will also invite foreign investment for its paper industry.
