CPC's 80th Founding Anniversary: Focus of World Attention
In the first July of the new century, we have welcomed in the 80th birthday of the Communist Party of China (CPC). As the whole Party is celebrating it and the whole nation is rejoicing over it, a splendid colorful rainbow has appeared in the sky over the vast land of China. This rainbow, hanging in the Orient, has attracted world attention.
Around the time of July 1, some foreign political parties, organizations and State leaders have either happily accepted interviews, or delivered speeches at grand gatherings, or sent congratulatory telegrams and letters to the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese government and their leaders, newspapers of some countries have published a series of special articles or editorials, warmly congratulating the CPC on its 80th founding anniversary, speaking highly of the extraordinary journey it has traversed, making heartfelt praises of the brilliant achievements gained by the Chinese people under its leadership, and of China's fearlessness of powers and its justice-upholding stand.
The activities marking the 80th birthday of the CPC have evoked enormous and strong repercussion in the world. There are inherent profound reasons for the sincere congratulations and commendations from the international community: First, they embody the international community's warm concern for China under the leadership of the CPC; second, they reflect the fact that led by the CPC, the influence of China keeps on expanding in the international arena and its status is rising day by day; third, they show that the monumental achievements scored by the Chinese people under its leadership are universally acknowledged.
The journey is magnificent, and songs are sung for the grand ceremony. Eighty eventful years are only a transient period in the long process of human history, in this limited period of time, the CPC has created unprecedented miracles on earth. Today, the Communist Party of China has developed into the biggest ruling party with rich State-administration experience and a pioneering and innovative spirit in the world, which has grown from over 50 persons at the beginning to an organization with a membership of more than 64 million people. Many foreign political parties and organizations are proud of their being the friends of the Chinese Communist Party
From the day of its establishment, the Communist Party of China has linked the future and destiny of China with the international community. The great victories, gained one after another by the Chinese people under its leadership in revolution, construction and in the reform and opening drive, are important contributions it has made to the international communist movement, they are, without exception, of world significance in changing the process of human history. Just as some senior foreign officials have said: The Communist Party of China is a political party full of hope and vigor, the brilliant achievements it has gained are really terrific; the 80-year history of the CPC is a textbook with rich content and profound significance, its successful practices and valuable experiences are the common assets of the world progressive forces.
Socialist China is experiencing growing prosperity, the Chinese nation, assuming a brand new posture, stands proudly in the galaxy of the world's nations, it constitutes an enormous encouragement and support to all peace-loving and progress-pursuing people in the world. While the sincere commendations extended by the international community to the Communist Party of China represent a great stimulus and expectation of us. It is our firm belief that a fast-developing socialist China will certainly make new, still greater contribution to the building of a world enjoying lasting peace and universal prosperity!
