8 Skyjacking Suspects to Be Punished

Spokesman for Civil Aviation and Administration of China Monday made a statement on the 8 skyjacking suspects of China's mainland repatriated from Taiwan.

The spokesman said the 8 mainland skyjacking suspects (Zhang Wenlong, Shi Yuepo, Qi Daquan, Han Xueshu, Zhang Hai, Gao Jun, Yuan Bin and Xu Mei) repatriated from Taiwan on June 28 is good for clamping jointly down on the skyjacking crimes between the Straits. It has played an important role in better curbing this kind of crimes and protecting the flight security in civil aviation. The judiciary organs in China's mainland will investigate and affix the penalties of the 8- skyjacking suspects in accordance with the law.

The spokesman emphasized that to hijack a civil plane is absolutely a serious crime no matter who or how one did it. The suspects must be severely punished by the law. The Chinese airlines and airports will also take more strict security measures to ensure the security and normal schedules of the flights and protect the rights and interests of passengers.
