Pyongyang Refutes US Missile Threat ClaimPyongyang sees no nuclear and missile threat posed to the United States from outside, and it is preposterous for the United States to talk about someone's " missile threat," Rodong Sinmun said in a commentary Monday.U.S. President George W. Bush said recently at the NATO summit that the United States would deploy the national missile defense system (NMD) as early as possible to cope with "threat" from outside. The United States is the source of threat to all the regions in the world and chiefly responsible for the potential nuclear and missile threat, said the official newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The U.S. claim is nothing but a sheer pretext to justify its moves to establish the NMD, the commentary noted. Washington's real aim is to overpower some countries, including Russia, with its unchallenged nuclear edge and establish domination and control over the world, it said. Moreover, Washington also seeks to spark a new arms race so as to undermine the economic potentials of other countries with military spending beyond their capacity and establish an unchallenged domination over the economic field, it added. |
