Japan to Give 900,000 Dollars to Cambodian Mine Project

The Japanese government has decided to disburse the amount of 900,000 U.S. dollars to UNDP's Trust Fund for the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) for this Japanese Fiscal Year from April 2001 to March 2002, according to a press release from the Embassy of Japan Monday.

This aid from Japan is in response to the appeal made by CMAC and taking into account its important role in mine action activities in Cambodia and its reform efforts, and in order to ensure the sustainable operations of CMAC, the release said.
