Chinese Armed Forces Praise Jiang's Speech
China's armed forces, the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Sunday spoke highly of the speech delivered by Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the July 1 gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the party.
During separate discussions, leading officers of the four major departments of the armed forces vowed to take the speech as their guiding principle for their work, and adhere to the absolute leadership of the CPC over the armed forces while implementing the military strategies and policies formulated for the new era.
The departments are the Headquarters of General Staff of the PLA, the General Political Department, the General Logistics Department and the General Armament Department.
Top officers of the departments said the speech delivered Sunday gave a detailed account of the great achievements and experiences of China during the past 80 years under the leadership of the Party, and the arduous tasks facing the whole Party in the new era.
The "Three Represent's" elaborated in Jiang's speech on the development of the CPC represents the latest achievements the party has made in its theory innovation and enriched and carried forward Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, said the officers.
Among those top officers attending the discussion were Fu Quanyou, chief of the General Staff, Yu Yongbo, director of the General Political Department, Wang Ke, director of the General Logistics Department and Cao Gangchuan, director of the General Armament Department.
