APEC FMM Holds Last Technical Working Group Meeting

The 8th Finance Ministers Meeting (FMM) of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held its last technical working group meeting Friday in Sanya, this south China scenic city in preparation for the upcoming FMM.

The 8th APEC FMM is one of the key ministerial meetings hosted by China this year.

During the working group meeting, about 60 delegates discussed the final arrangement for FMM and topics ranging from recent global and regional economic and financial situation, the progress in various initiatives under the FMM process £¬ mid-term strategic objectives of the future FMM, to the on-going work on reforming international financial architecture.

Chinese Deputy Finance Minister Jin Liqun, also chairman of the 8th APEC FMM Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting, presided today's meeting. Representatives from 19 out of the 21 APEC economies, as well as officials from International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank also attended the meeting.

The 8th APEC FMM will be held from September 8 to 9 in Suzhou, a lakeside city in Jiangsu Province, east China. The city with a history of 2,500 years is dubbed "Heaven on the Earth" for its breathtakingly beautiful gardens and scenery.
