Shanghai Designates August As "Month to Expose False Advertisements"The Shanghai Municipal Association for Protecting Consumers' Rights has designated this August as the" Month to Expose False Advertisements" in a bid to encourage all consumers to inform against misleading advertisements.The China Association for Protecting Consumers' Rights has decided to take "Green Consumption" as the theme for 2001. In August, The Shanghai Municipal Association for Protecting Consumers' Rights is to place emphasis on exposing false advertisements, especially those on foods, beverages, health-care products, cosmetics and construction materials, etc. In August consumers can report to consumer associations at all levels in Shanghai any false advertisement cropping up in newspapers, magazines, TV, radios which are misleading or causing harm to consumers' rights and interests. |
