Zhatang Danbai Nyima, director of the regional association of Buddhism, said even during the time of the Red Army in 1930s, the CPC had deeply impressed Tibetans for its protection of religious freedom and respect to Tibetan culture and customs. Qun Pei, chairman of the Tibet Hada Group Company said his firm was only a small furniture workshop when it was founded in the 1980s, but the business has expanded to construction, hydropower, import and export and a department store, with an annual turnover of more than 60 million yuan. All this has been the result of the party's reform and opening up policy, he said. |
