China Mobile's scheduled long-term loans and capital lease obligations payable in 2001 will come to about 5.542 billion yuan (US$669.32 million), the firm said in a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

"We plan to repay loan amounts due using cash in hand and cash from our operating activities," China's largest mobile operator, which has listed American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) in New York, said in the June 26 filing.

Long-term loans and capital lease obligations payable in 2002 would amount to about 6.359 billion yuan (US$766 million) and in 2003 to about 5.871 billion yuan (US$707 million), the filing on Wednesday said.

At the end of 2000, China Mobile's aggregate long-term loans and capital lease obligations were 13.708 billion yuan (US$1.65 billion).

China Mobile's ADR closed down US$0.59 at US$25.88 on Tuesday.
