Nepalese Queen Komal was discharged from hospital Wednesday where she was recovering from lung and rib wounds suffered in the June 1 Narayanhiti Royal Palace shoot out and returned home to Nirmal Niwas, a royal palace announcement said.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and chiefs of constitutional bodies saw off the Queen at the Birendra Military Hospital where three others injured in the carnage are undergoing treatment.
Princess Shova Shahi, sister of King Gyanendra, Kumar Gorakh SJB Rana, husband of late Princess Shruti, niece of the King, and Ketaki Chester, a cousin of the King, were also undergoing treatment at the hospital for injuries. Crown Prince Dipendra started the carnage killing or injuring 14 members of the royal family or relatives, a probe commission said. King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya died in the shoot-out while Dipendra turned a gun on himself and committed suicide.
Queen Komal is making satisfactory progress, the palace said Wednesday.
