Ethiopian Ruling Party Reaffirms Pursuing of Free Market Economy
The ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) has endorsed resolutions reaffirming the further development of free market economy in the country, the Ethiopian Herald reported Wednesday in Addis Ababa.
The resolutions, which came after a six-day meeting of the EPRDF council, said that the development of free market economy was a path without option to extract the Ethiopian people from object poverty and backwardness.
The Ethiopian ruling party began to pursue free market economy in 1995, but the strategy has drawn strong opposition from some party leaders.
