EMS Network to Cover Whole ChinaChina Post will fulfill another round of accelerating the express mail service (EMS) by the end of this September, thus to form a nationwide express transport network based mainly on the airmail with the road and railway delivery as subsidiaries.Officials of the State Post Bureau disclosed the above information on June 26. As reported China Post, facing the serious competition, has achieved its first step in EMS speedup as Last March saw five night mail routes launched from Shanghai to Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Qingdao and Xiamen. From July 1, along with the further shortening of the time spent on assorting, mailing and local transport, interurban mails through EMS among provincial capital cities will reach receivers overnight should the distance is within 500-600 kilometers. China Post will continue to launch airmail route from Shanghai to Shenyang, Xi'an, Wuhan and Shenzhen this September so as to cover China's northeast, northwest and the central. Meanwhile, transport network on the ground will also be adjusted accordingly. When the speedup of this year is fulfilled, 85 percent of the mail delivery through EMS in between Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun, Shanghai, Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Chongqing will reach the receiver overnight. By then, mails will all be delivered to receivers on the morrow from capital cities to other cities with 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, namely Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi and Guangdong.
