Li Peng Visits SOE Exhibition
China's top legislator, Li Peng, Tuesday visited an exhibition showcasing the achievements of China 's state-owned enterprises in reform, development and technological innovation.
The chairman of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress gave the exhibition high praise after carefully inspecting it, saying that it fully reflects the achievements of SOEs in reform and technical innovation.
At the end of his visit, Li stressed that China will continue to put SOE reform at the center of economic reform during the 10th five-year plan period from 2001 to 2005.
The exhibition is jointly sponsored by the State Economic and Trade Commission, the Publicity Department of Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Ministry of Finance, the National Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing Municipal Government. It will last until June 28.
