Two Drug-traffickers Executed in Northeast China

Two drug-traffickers were executed Tuesday following a court judgment announced at a rally held in the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Jin Jiyun, 38, once jailed for theft, smuggled over 2,000 grams of "ice" drug into China from abroad in the August of 1999, and was caught red-handed when selling the drug in a hotel in Shenyang.

Liu Futian, 54, was convicted of selling more than 920 grams of heroin in 1998 as well as holding counterfeit money.

The judges also sentenced 16 other drug dealers to term imprisonment, life imprisonment or death penalties with reprieves.
