Pakistan's Policy Continuity Welcome: FM Spokeswoman

China welcomes the decision made by Pakistan's new president to ensure continuity of relevant Pakistani policies, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue Tuesday.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said after he took office of the President on June 20 that he will dedicate himself to building Pakistan into a country that encourages economic development and investment expansion, promising that the continuation of policies will be ensured.

"China welcomes the decision by the Pakistani president," Zhang noted.

She revealed that Chinese leaders have sent congratulatory messages to Musharraf.

"As a friendly neighbor of Pakistan, China sincerely hopes and believes that Pakistan will march forward on the road of stability and development," the spokeswoman added.
