HKPC Introduces Program to Promote Environmental Education

The TechMart of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) officially launched a program to promote environmental education in Hong Kong Tuesday.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Stephen Lee, director of HKPC, said, "The environmental Education Program, initiated by HKPC with the support of Tung Wah Group, aims to promote environmental education in Hong Kong based on the extensive and practical environmental experience of HKPC."

Under the program, an educational model on water purification by physical and chemical treatment, developed recently by HKPC, will be introduced and installed in four Tung Wah Schools for teaching purpose by the end of June.

The model is designed to provide students with an overview of the operation of a real wastewater treatment system.

According to Lee, another two education models, on biological treatment processes and membrane filtration system respectively, are under planning and will be available in the near future.
