Shanghai Routs Shanxi 3-1, Dalian Lost


Shanghai Routs Shanxi 3-1
Shanghai Shenhua remained on top of Chinese soccer first division with an easy 3-1 win over Shanxi Guoli Sunday in Shanghai.

After the twelfth round, Shanghai Shenhua led the league with 32 points, 6 points ahead of defending champion Dalian Shide, which lost to Sichuan Shangwutong 3-0 on Sunday at Chengdu, Southwest China.

Shanghai Shenhua held a 2-0 lead at halftime after Zhang Yong opened the scoring in the sixth minute and Qu Shengqing scored in twelfth minute.

Marcos Romero Borfim scored Shanxi Guoli only goal shortly after the break.

The whole match showed that Shanghai Shenhua had much longer ball-possession time and more shots than Shanxi Guoli.

Sichuan Shangwutong extended its winning series to five games after a 3-0 victory over Dalian Shide. Sichuan Shangwutong scored the opening goal after just two minutes. Li Bing struck again after 10 minutes to take Sichuan into the break two goals ahead.

Down 2-0 at halftime Dalian Shide came out firing but couldn't put any 13 shots into the back of the net. Sichuan sealed the win with an injury-time goal and have only one point less than Dalian with 25 points.

In other matches on Sunday, Yunnan Hongta routed Shenyang Jinde 5-1; Qingdao Beer tied with Shenzhen Kejian 0-0; Shandong Luneng beat Bayi Zhenbang 1-0; Beijing Guo'an edged Liaoning Fushun 2-0 and Chongqing Lifan defeated Tianjin Taida 2-0.
