Chinese Firm Develops Mobile Satellite Multimedia Application System

A Chinese high-tech firm has recently developed a mobile satellite multimedia application system, filling a technical blank in the country.

Xu Zhijing, president of the Beijing-based Beifang Bo'er Technology Co., said during a recent technical seminar in Shanghai that the system could receive satellite broadcasts in the process of movement, allow two-way voice communications and access to the Internet anytime and anywhere.

Experts at the seminar said the system is internationally advanced in its key technologies and marks the latest progress in the application of mobile satellite information technology.

The system has undergone thousands of kilometers of tests in highway, railway and marine environment and will be soon put into mass production, Xu said.
