Colombian Police Seize Two Tons of Cocaine
Colombian police seized on Friday two tons of cocaine believed to be destined for Dominica, Haiti and the United States, anti-drug authorities said Saturday.

General Gustavo Socha, head of the Colombian anti-drug forces, said the drugs were camouflaged inside plastic bags that unknown people buried in sand at the town of Punta de San Bernardo, northern Colombia.

Up to now, he said, Colombian anti-narcotic agents didn't capture any suspects, but they have carried out an extensive operation in the northern provinces of Bolivar, Cordoba and Sucre to search for heads of drug smuggling groups operating on the Caribbean coast.

According to Colombian authorities, these drug traffickers collaborate with criminal groups from Mexico and some Caribbean countries.
