Lebanon to Issue 300 Million US Dollars Eurobond

Lebanese Finance Ministry has planned to issue a seven-year eurobond of 300 million to 400 million US dollars next month.

It is an attempt to replace some of its costly local debts that will mature in two months, the Daily Star newspaper reported Saturday.

Lebanese parliament approved the government's 2001 budget, which allows the finance ministry to issue 2 billion dollars eurobond in this year.

Lebanon's public debt has reached 25.2 billion dollars, among which is 7.15 billion dollars of foreign debt.
