More Than 20,000 People Join Anti Drug Rally In Bangkok

More than 20,000 people join the rally to campaign against drug in Bangkok and to mark the world anti-drug day on 26 June, according to a report of the Thai News Agency(TNA) Saturday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister to Prime Minister's Office Thamarak Isaragura Na-Ayudhaya, who presided over the rally, called for the cooperation from the people from all walk of life to join effort to eliminate the drug abuse in the country.

Thamarak, who supervise the drug suppression agency, said the drug problem, especially amphetamine or Ya Ba, is now one of the most serious issue of the country.

Thailand is located close to the drug producer and is the transit point of the drug traders, so to solve the problem is not easy, he said.

He said the drug issue is not involved only the government or any agency but it is mutual problem and need joint effort to fight against it.

The anti-drug rally was jointly organized by Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) as well as other public and private agencies.
