Tianjin Destroys Counterfeit Food
This municipality burnt 26 tons of counterfeit and poor quality food confiscated in a check on Friday.
Since late April, the city's authorities have made four large- scale inspections to crack down on the crimes of making counterfeit and poor quality food.
A total of 80 tons of such food were seized and 305 food producers and dealers were given administrative penalties accordingly.
The inspections were aimed at checking for nocuous chemicals and heavy-metal additives in food.
