Macao-Taiwan Air Routes to Handle More Passengers, Cargo

The total number of seats on the Macao-Taiwan air flights will increase by 8,000 to 38,800 each week as of mid-July, to address the growing passenger flow between the two places.

According to a consensus reached by Air Macao and the Taipei Aviation Association, the weekly cargo handling capacity will also increase to 800 tons from the current 400 tons on the Macao-Taipei and Macao-Kaohsiung air routes.

The transport capacity on the routes has been on the rise over the past few years, which mainly caters to the demand of the growing number of passengers who fly between Taiwan and China's inland, choosing Macao as a transfer station.

The air routes are now managed by Air Macao and Taiwan's Evergreen Airways and TransAsia Airways.
