Ninth Domestic Tourism Trade Fair Opens
Domestic Travel Fair Opened
The Ninth China Domestic Tourism Trade Fair, the biggest of its kind in the country, opened Thursday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The current fair, with the theme of "New Century, New Thoughts and New Development," is attracting nearly 10,000 representatives from 3,000 domestic tourism enterprises.
Besides the traditional comprehensive tourism exhibition and showcase of tourism souvenirs, exhibitions of tourism automobiles, commodities, and tourism entrance tickets will also be staged at the fair.
Other special activities arranged for the fair include a forum for governors and mayors, a competition for tourism souvenirs designing, a forum on China's tourism development, and a meeting for promoting tourism in western region.
Domestic Travel Fair Opened
The trade fair, an annual event, is playing an active role in pushing forward the development of domestic tourism.
In another development, competition for tourism souvenir designing, part of the current trade fair, also started Thursday.
