The Mideast peace process is facing severe challenges, said Zhang, adding that although both sides have declared they would accept the ceasefire agreement of the international community, the regional situation is still far from being stable. "We sincerely hope the Mideast issue will be solved justly and reasonably on the basis of pertinent principles laid down by the United Nations," she said.
