Water-inlet Sluice-gate of Three Gorges Lock to Be Completed

The concrete pouring at the water-inlet of the permanent ship lock of the Three Gorges Project is to be completed soon. This will lay solid foundation for its opening to navigation in 2003 as scheduled. The water-inlet is the "throat" for water influx and draw-off. With a complicated structure the engineering workmanship is very strict.
