Beijing Opera Performances in Memory of CPC's Anniversary

Three Beijing Opera dramas will be staged in Beijing at the Chang'an Theater on July 1 to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The dramas, to be performed by famous artists from the China Beijing Opera Troupe, will respectively feature a revolutionary martyr, an honest official in ancient China and teachers contributing to rural education in western China.

Wu Jiang, director of the troupe, said at a press conference Wednesday that the dramas were transcribed from homonymic works in the style of local operas in southwest and north China.
