Intel to Explore Asia-Pacific E-business Market

Intel and its distributor Arcon Group Holdings Limited announced here Thursday that they will jointly provide services for e-business solution providers in an effort to explore the promising e-business market in the Asia Pacific region.

According to the bilateral agreement, Intel Solution Services will provide the full range of e-business technology and network technology services such as technical consultation, optimization and testing services to e-business solution providers through Arcon's network.

Arcon, which has a huge distribution network in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Chinese mainland, will provide equipment to Intel and sell equipment to Intel's customers.

According to a research conducted by the International Data Corp., in 2005, the value of e-business activities conducted in the Internet by enterprises in Asia Pacific will amount to more than 500 billion U.S. dollars, representing a 39-fold increase as compared to 2000.

By then, the proportion of worldwide e-business market segment in Asia Pacific will increase from 5 percent to 12 percent.
