Pakistan-India Summit Welcomed, FM Spokeswoman

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Thursday that China welcomes and appreciates the upcoming Pakistan-India summit.

She told a regular press conference that the improvement of the Pakistan-India relations conforms to the interests of the two countries, and such a move is conducive to the peace, stability and development in South Asia.

It is reported Pakistan leader General Pervez Musharraf will visit India for three days from July 14 and will have a summit meeting with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the ancient city of Agra.
