Russia, US Simplify Procedures of Sea Freight Delivery

Russian Transportation Minister Sergei Frank and his US counterpart Norman Mineta signed an agreement Wednesday to simplify the port calls of commercial vessels in both countries.

"We are sure the new agreement will make freight delivery by sea faster, simpler, cheaper, more technological and competitive," Frank said after a signing ceremony in St. Petersburg.

Mineta said the implementation of the new agreement would increase chances for U.S. investments in the Russian market, thus guaranteeing the advancement of an open and competitive economy.
