French President Chirac Visits China Platform at Paris Air Show

French President Jacques Chirac visited the exhibition platform of China National Aero-Technology Import/Export Corporation in Hall No 2 of the 44th Paris Air Show at the Bourget airport June 19, accompanied by French Defense Minister Alain Richard, Transport Minister Jean-Claude Gayssot, Chinese ambassador to France Wu Jianming, as well as vice presidents of the said Chinese company Yan Tiannan and Ding Shiqing.

Yan Tiannan briefed Chirac and other French guests on the cooperation between his company and French counterparts. He says the cooperation in the field of helicopter turned out very successful with the EC-120 light helicopter, co-produced by China, French and Singapore, enjoyed a ready market. He also mentions that China is developing multi-function light fighters and hopes to join hands with French side on electric equipment and win support from French President and government. Chirac says the two sides should further expand their cooperation and leaves his words as "witness of friendship".

As the world largest this year's Bourget Air Show opens June 17 to 24, with 1,800 companies from 43 countries, 242 aircraft displayed and 66 of them made flying show.

Three Chinese companies, China National Aero-Technology Import/Export Corporation, China Great Wall Industry Corporation and China Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation attended the grand exhibition and displayed 12 plane models on top of rocket and missile system.
