Chinese Peasants Enjoy Traveling by Plane

For the first time in their lives 122 farmers from Yuanjiacun Village of northwest China's Shaanxi Province have just enjoyed a pleasant travel by air.

Yuanjiacun was a poor village previously. These farmers never dreamed of travelling by air. As they have been becoming prosperous by operating 12 enterprises with total fixed assets worth US$22 million last year, they decided to travel together to Beijing, the capital of China, to broaden their vision.

Now all the families in the village are living in two- story buildings, and have refrigerators, color TV sets and motorcycles. Last year, per-capita income of the villagers hit 11,665 yuan.
